Abby Dixon
As a yoga teacher, musician and writer with a deep affinity to nature, our ability to live connected and conscious lives is a large part of her teachings; both on the yoga mat and in song.
Her early career was within the NGO sector and specifically in human rights and woman empowerment initiatives in Africa. But the yoga classes she attended in her free time, lead her to India where she began the journey towards becoming a yoga teacher. Helping people expand their potential has always been her drive. In essence, historic human practices and tribal ways of being, intrigue her. Many years on the road across India, Africa, South and central America have inspired her.
Abby has been teaching yoga for 10 years, and during that time has taught thousands of classes from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. Her classes are a fusion of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga traditions, with a balance between movement and stillness. She is Inspired by Hridaya, Sivananda and Ashtanga Yoga traditions; her personal practice being Ashtanga yoga. For a dash of magic, you will experience live music at the end of all her classes.
Her extensive experience working on her own retreats as well as holding space on many other people's retreats over the years, gives her substantial knowledge and expertise in curating and cultivating inspiring retreat environments.
A writer, poet and musician, Abby has released an album and self-published a book, and is currently writing her second book called 'Conversations with heart.'
In her own words...
"Nature is my muse, Beau is my rock!"
